Dubai is one of those cities that is wonderfully located and within easy reach of just about everyone. Because of it’s national airline as well, you can usually reach it from nearly all major cities. Because of this – it makes a fantastic vacation destination.
But of course, it’s not just it’s location that makes it a fantastic place to go on holiday – the city also has lots to offer in terms of activities, sights and attractions. In fact you could easily spend a few weeks here and still not have run out of things to do.
Dubai is great for all kinds of visitors, for families, romantic couple, luxury travelers and even people here on business – there is bound to be something in this desert paradise to keep you busy and entertained. So what are my highlights? Well, keep reading!
1. Dubai Fountains
This is my absolute favorite spot in the whole of Dubai. The fountains are found by Dubai Mall and they’re just huge. If you’re finding it hard to picture them, just image the Bellagio fountains – as they were made by the same designers. The fountains are simply magical in the evening and a must-see for anyone visiting the city.
2. Wild Wadi Water Park
This is the original water park of Dubai and still the best in my opinion. It’s right next to two of the cities most luxurious hotels too – so you’ll have a great view the entire time. The waterpark is full of a variety of rides to keep all kinds of kids busy – as well as a few shops and eateries too for those hungry tummies.
3. Desert Safari
No trip to Dubai would be complete without a trip into the desert. You can book a desert safari through most hotels and they’ll even pick you up from the lobby. The tour is full of fun and depending which you opt for you may get a go at quad biking and even riding a camel!
4. Marina Mall Cinema
The cinemas in Dubai are pretty luxurious – so if you’re after something cheap and cheerful just take the kids to see a film. It’s not like the cinemas in the UK or US – in these ones you’ll get reclining seats and table service!
5. Ski Dubai
Not that’d eve believe that Dubai has a ski slope, but they do! It’s a huge indoor slope, great for all levels of expertise. Even the very young ones could have a blast sledging instead of skiing! It’s a fantastic day out for anyone who is a bit fed up with the sunshine!
6. Dubai Mall
For anyone who loves shopping – this will be your absolute paradise! There are so many shops in this gigantic mall you’d be hard pressed to find better shopping under one roof anywhere else in the world! There are high-end shops, mid-range and even coffee shops and kiddies toy shops too, it really does have something for everyone.
7. Dubai Marina
If it’s the glitz and glam you’re after, then look no further than Dubai Marina. Here you’ll find lots of the glam boats and the glitzy skyscrapers Dubai is famous for. Walk around during a cool evening and enjoy a drink or two by the water. You’ll feel like you’re one of the elite!
