Not only is this something to visit in itself but Rockefeller Center in general is a great place to visit during the Christmas season. The enormous tree is often put up during the end of November or the beginning of December and will usually stay lit till at least a week or two into January. Although the tree lighting is free to enjoy it often does draw large crowds.
Try Ice Skating
Another great thing about winter in New York especially at Rockefeller Center is ice skating. Individuals can lace up skates and enjoy outdoor skating right in the heart of New York City. Guests can bring their own skates or rent a pair for an additional fee. Skating typically starts around October and last into the new year.
