Two Weeks to Celebrate 25 Years

Couple Holding HandsIn this day and age many people are finding it easier to go through a divorce than to fight through the hard times in a marriage.  My husband and I have been married for 25 years, and although the ride hasn’t always been easy, I am proud of where we are and how we have stuck together.

Happy Memories Keep Us Together

I think that one of the most important things in marriage is being able to communicate, even when all you want is some space and time on your own. Through our ups and downs we have always come together to talk, even if it has been months since our last sit down.  During those times we don’t generally start arguing about what’s annoying us, instead we reminisce.

Talking about how you got together, or the excitement of buying the house, the children arriving, all those things that make us smile help to unite us again.  I think that is how we have managed to live together for twenty five years. We fought our parents to be together, and that makes our relationship stronger.  We knew we were right to stand up for our relationship, and our strength as a couple has only served to help prove our case.

Celebrating Anniversaries Reminds Us How Much We Mean to Each Other

As we were reaching our quarter of a century of being a married couple (sounds so long when it’s put that way!), we wanted to do something special.  Somehow a dinner and a night at the theatre didn’t really seem to do justice to everything we have overcome. We decided to look for a holiday, just two weeks of relaxation and a bit of fine living.

We always take a two week holiday and we have been to many places all over the world. This anniversary holiday needed to be something we had never done before. So with that in mind we began asking our friends and family for ideas.  One of the suggestions that cropped up time and time again was a cruise.  We hadn’t really thought about it, but suddenly it felt like it might be just the perfect way to celebrate our relationship.

The Caribbean Appealed to Us

After deciding a cruise was for us, we began looking into places we wished to see and the Caribbean seemed perfect.  Romantic beaches, quaint islands, crystal clear blue seas, sound heavenly, and it was.

One of the best things about the cruise was that every night was like celebrating our anniversary.  On cruise ships you are expected to dress up and make a real effort.  It had been years since I last saw my husband in a suit and he looked so handsome.  I had a special outfit for each night; it was a bit extravagant I admit, so I only took two pairs of heels to compensate.

We wined and dined every evening, spent a night or two dancing and even braved one of the younger clubs on the cruise.  It was so much fun and we even managed to keep up with people half our age. We made friends and spent the day talking with others, however, when night time came it was just us.

Finding a cheap Caribbean cruise can mean more money to spend on clothes and trips for your holiday of a life time. Major Cruise select the best cruise lines and deals so that your next holiday will be one of luxury, without breaking the bank.  Celebrate your anniversary together exploring the islands of the Caribbean.
