There are lots of restaurants that specialize in Camel meat. You will find lots of residents of Dubai who have neither experienced the camel riding nor the Camel meat burgers. Therefore, camels here are not as common as you all assume.

Ramadan

Some of you might not be aware of Ramadan. Well, this is a holy month for Muslims where people do not drink or eat during daylight hours. Hence, companies are legally obliged to reduce working days by two hours during Ramadan for their Muslim as well as Non-Muslim employees. Also, it is illegal, although not heavily imposed, to drink, eat or smoke in public during daylight hours. If anyone saw you doing the same and called the cops then you will be fined heavily. Whether you are a Muslim or a Non-Muslim, Mosques offer free Iftar meals to almost anyone during the month. In every hook and corner of Dubai, you will hear calls to prayer at least five times a day. Even in the shopping malls, to remind Muslims that it is time to pray, the calls to prayer are put out over the speakers.

Speeding is Dubai’s national sport. You have to experience it for understanding it. The city has got one of the best road networks in the world. But at times, it’s very scary to drive here as UAE has got six times more deaths from road traffic accidents per year than any other developed countries of the world. Also, you will find lots of exotic cars, conceptual car and super car in Dubai. Here in Dubai, people get stuck in traffic congestion for hours every day to go to work.

If you are staying in Dubai then you don’t have to pay any taxes. Yes! You will be free of taxes if you are staying at Dubai. However, at the end, you end up paying a lots of government fees. In short, we can say that Dubai has got less tax than Europe and North America.

Weather

In Dubai, you will find sunshine for more than 350 days an year. Moreover, the summer months are very harsh here. You can’t go out till the afternoon because the temperatures are above 40 degrees Celsius. During the monsoons, Dubai gets less than 20cm of rain per year. Rest of the months there is amazing weather in the city.
