Playa Blanca

Do you want a place to relax and get a tan? Playa Blanca has some awesome beaches: the eponymous beach, Playa Blanca is only ten minutes away from the Playa Dorada bay. Ten more minutes of walking will take you to the Playa Flamingo where you can find some great villas and apartments. We’ve searched online about where you could stay and we found A1 Lanzarote Villas – great villas to rent and a place where you can get plenty of information about what ferries you should use to explore the surrounding areas.

Getting hungry from all that walking? Then why don’t you head over to the Volcan Timanfaya? It has a breathtaking view and the best steak on the island. The Romantica is, as the name suggests, is quite romantic and we’ve heard the food is to die for. The Sebastyan restaurant has great serving and the Dal Trevisano will serve you some of the best Italian food you have ever had. Meson la Taberva will enchant your palate with some exquisite Spanish dishes and the Indian Tandoor House will spice up your life with amazing curries and dals.

How about doing some shopping in Playa Blanca? Apart from the souvenir places that you can find on every corner there is a market that is available twice a week in Marina Rubicon on Wednesdays and Saturdays. If you do want to shop there, be sure to make it early in the morning, as all the merchants are gone by noon. You can buy some of the famous Lanzarote wines there and also some handcrafter goods that will make for great souvenirs for your loved ones.

If you’re in the mood to walk and explore the surroundings you could head over to the island’s dormant volcano, the Montana Roja (the Red Mountain) – it is a local custom to leave out messages spelled out with rock and pebbles. Don’t forget your camera while you’re here.
