Planning the Perfect Fall Picnic
There is nothing like enjoying a beautiful outdoor picnic in the fall with the season changing. Leaves are changing colors and the weather is becoming much more bearable. It is the absolute perfect time to enjoy some outdoor alone time with your honey. However, as with any event, the perfect fall picnic is going to require some planning on your part. Here are some tips to help you along the way while planning the perfect fall picnic for you and your significant other to enjoy including packing tips:
- Location, Location, Location – Location is an important part of planning the perfect fall picnic. You can choose to go to a local public park, a state park, or even somewhere that could be much more discreet. The important thing to remember is that you want to have some alone time, so you don’t want to choose a location where a large group of people are going to be. If the park is large enough, then you can separate yourselves from the rest of the individuals. Just make sure there isn’t going to be heavy traffic in the area that you choose.
- Pack a Few Blankets – Depending on the day you choose to have your picnic as well as the time of day, it could be a bit a chilly. Nothing is better than being able to snuggle with your sweetie underneath a blanket. In your picnic backpacks, be sure to pack a blanket to spread out on the ground as well as a blanket or two to cover up with. To ensure you can stay warm, it may be wise to bring three blankets – one to sit on and one for each of you to cover up with. If you choose to have an evening/night picnic, then blankets are essential for romantic stargazing!
- Choose Your Drinks – Since it might be a little cool, you might want to choose to bring a thermos of hot chocolate or apple cider. The thermos will keep the beverages warm so that when you pour yourself a drink, it will warm you from the inside out! However, some would prefer to stay traditional with a fall picnic and pack wine, champagne or sparkling water in their picnic baskets. If you choose to bring along wine or champagne on your fall picnic, just make sure that your wine will complement the foods that you pack.
- Sandwiches and Soup – To stay a bit on the traditional side, you can pack sandwiches in your picnic basket. Instead of having cold sandwiches, however, try toasting the bread and wrapping in foil so that it can stay warm. To go with the chilly weather, a bowl of warm soup would be absolutely perfect. If you would like to take soup along with you on your picnic, pack the soup in a thermos so it will stay warm and don’t forget to pack a couple of bowls and spoons! Pairing a sandwich with a warm bowl of soup would be a perfect picnic meal.
Fall is the perfect time of year for a picnic as the weather isn’t too warm, but it isn’t too cold either. Spending time with your sweetie in a secluded location with all the right fixings couldn’t be more enjoyable.
