How To Ease Boredom While Waiting At The Airport

Whether you are a perpetual traveler or not, chances are you have already experienced being stuck at the airport while waiting for your plane to arrive. Sometimes the waiting can extend for hours. It can be pure torture to have so much time on your hands and nothing to do but sit and wait. As a constant traveler I have been in this situation many times. This is why I have come up with ways to combat this. Here are three ways to ease boredom while waiting at the airport.

Read a book. Whenever I travel I usually bring a book with me. That way, when I have to wait in line, I just take out my book and read to pass the time. The disadvantage of bringing a paperback though, at least for me, is that when I finish reading I’m again stuck with nothing to do. And this happens more often than not since I’m a fast reader and I finish reading fast. So if you are a fast reader like me then I suggest that you buy a kindle or any ebook reader. You can store hundreds to thousands of books on a reader. I have a kindle and I love it! Aside from books you can store music and word documents on it. Plus it has a text-to-speech feature. That way if you get tired of reading you can activate the text-to-speech feature and listen to your book instead.

Listen to music or audio books. Listening to music is one way to pass the time. You can easily get lose track of time while listening to your favorite soundtrack. If you want to do something more productive with your time while waiting you can listen to an audio book. I often store loads of audio books in my ipod when I travel. This way I can listen to a good book while waiting. Not only do I learn new things I avoid getting bored.

Sneak some work in. I love taking extended vacations. The problem is I often find myself neck deep in work when I get back. That’s why whenever I find myself with time on my hands at the airport I take out my Ipad2 and sneak some work in. I check my mail, I catch up with work and I get stuff done.

If you really think about it there are loads of things that you can do to ease your boredom. You just have to think out of the box and be creative. There are no hard and fast rules. Its up to you.
