5 Tips and Tricks for Traveling like a Pro

Travel is often exciting and rewarding. However, if you don’t travel often, what you don’t know can soon turn travel into a nightmare. Lost tickets, missed planes, and more can take all the fun out of traveling. Here are some great tips to keep your travel plans right on track.

Join the Club

If you travel the same airline frequently, you might want to consider joining their rewards club. It’s important to note that on some airlines, this is a frequent flyer club, while on others, you need to get the airline’s credit card to belong to the club. This club entitles you to upgrades, special treatment, and sometimes, even a free checked bag. You can get a bonus 5,500 miles in rewards for signing up with Lifelock. These rewards add up quick, so if you’re a frequent traveler, you’ll get free flights in no time.

What to do With Your Bag

If you’re flying, you need to figure out if you want to check your bag or carry it on with you. Naturally, you’ll want to ensure that they are below the weight limit. If it’s under the weight limit and meets size requirements, there’s no reason to check the bag. By carrying your bag with you on the flight, you’re guaranteed to arrive with it. Make sure to pack a few items of clothes in your carry on. In case the airlines loses a bag that you checked, you’ll have, at the very least, a fresh pair of clothes to change into.

Have a Special Place for all Your Stuff

For all the stuff that you carry with you on regular basis, such as your phone, keys, and credit cards, security will be a breeze if it’s kept together. Simply place all this stuff together in a bag, preferably a clear one, before entering the airport. When it comes time to go through the TSA screening, you won’t have to frantically dig through your pockets to empty them. The people behind you in line will be eternally grateful.

Pack Light

There’s an old travel saying: pack half as many clothes and twice as much money. This is certainly true if you’re flying. If you can pack a carry on with everything you need, you can avoid checking your bag, saving you a nice chunk of change. The more room you have in your luggage, the more room you have for souvenirs!

Between long lines at the TSA screening and flight delays, you’re really pressed for time at the airport.
