5. The Anatara Golden Triangle Resort, Chiang Rai, Thailand

The Golden Triangle Resort in Chiang Rai is located upon a hilltop overlooking the jungles of northern Thailand. The resort is also an elephant camp and allows guests to take treks via elephant through the dense jungle tracks.

The hotel itself has plenty of amenities including fine dining and it’s own cooking school. The Resort also has a spa and gardens, but perhaps its finest feature is the hilltop infinity pool (a pool with an edge that creating the effect of disappearing into the horizon), overlooking the scenery below.

Tanzania is a country well known for its safaris, and the Serena Safari Lodge at Lake Maynara is ideally suited for a safari base. It sits on the edge of Lake Maynara and is close to the national park. The hotel its self is suited for safari travelers, with the highlight being the swimming pool- reputedly one of the best in the country- and its view of Lake Maynara.

Located in the desert, the Qar Al Sarab in Abu Dhabi is a true oasis. The hotel is a true luxury hotel, with rooms, suites and villas. There are four dining establishments on the premises, and activities available such as tennis and falconry. The desert can be explored by camel trek or by walking. While villas have their own plunge pools, the swimming pool at the resort offers beautiful views of the desert dunes.

Murni’s Villas are located about 15-20 minutes from Ubud in Bali. The are run by a famous restaurant owner and offer seclusion and a mountain resort. The Villas offer amenities and a professional staff, who also cook and prepare meals. Mountain views, rice paddies and beautiful gardens are what this resort offers, and the salt-water pool offers scenic views.

Located in Bali, the Ubud Hanging Gardens are simply spectacular. The resort offers villas and suites each with their own heated pool with hillside views of the valley below.
